Striped Baby Booties Pattern

Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in white and yellow
• Size 4.0 mm (US 6) double-pointed knitting needles
• Stitch marker
• Tapestry needle

Gauge

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Abbreviations

• K: Knit

Instructions

Cuff

1. Using white yarn, CO 32 sts and divide evenly onto 3 double-pointed needles. Join in the round, being careful not to twist the sts. Place a stitch marker at the beginning.
2. Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 6 rounds.
3. Switch to yellow yarn and knit 2 rounds.
4. Switch to white yarn and knit 2 rounds.
5. Repeat the stripe pattern (yellow for 2 rounds, white for 2 rounds) one more time.

Foot

1. Continue in white and knit every round until the foot measures approximately 3 inches from the heel.

Toe Decreases

1. Round 1: (K6, k2tog) 4 times - 28 sts.
2. Round 2: Knit all sts.
3. Round 3: (K5, k2tog) 4 times - 24 sts.
4. Round 4: Knit all sts.
5. Round 5: (K4, k2tog) 4 times - 20 sts.
6. Round 6: Knit all sts.
7. Round 7: (K3, k2tog) 4 times - 16 sts.
8. Round 8: (K2, k2tog) 4 times - 12 sts.
9. Round 9: (K1, k2tog) 4 times - 8 sts.
10. Round 10: (k2tog) 4 times - 4 sts.

Finishing

1. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread the tail through the remaining 4 sts and pull tightly to close the toe.
2. Weave in all ends securely with a tapestry needle.
3. Repeat for the second bootie.
